Many users experience burning out of the submersible pump motor during the use of the submersible pump, but they do not know the reasons for the burning out of the submersible pump motor. Generally, submersible pumps do not have water leakage, leakage, or overload protection devices. If these devices are required, additional requirements need to be made before ordering. If the submersible pump you are using does not have these functions, if there is water leakage, leakage, or overload during use Overloading can easily cause the submersible pump motor to burn out. The specific reasons for the burnout of the submersible pump motor are as follows:
1. Due to the fact that the head of the submersible pump when used is too low and the pump head is higher than the actual operating head by more than 5 meters, the phenomenon of excessive flow and current rise can be caused. The solution is to turn down the pump outlet valve to increase its resistance and reduce the outlet flow control current.
2. The submersible pump motor requires the entire machine to be submerged in water for use. The heat dissipation of the submersible motor mainly depends on water cooling. If the motor leaks out of the water surface without water cooling, the temperature of the motor will rise sharply, which can easily lead to the phenomenon of motor burnout.
3. If the liquid conveyed is hot water below 80 degrees Celsius, it is necessary to use a hot water submersible pump. The hot water submersible pump is usually a product with a stainless steel jacket and external cooling water for cooling. When used, it is necessary to connect external tap water for cooling. If the motor is not connected to tap water for cooling, it will definitely cause the motor to burn due to the high temperature of the medium that cannot cool the motor.
4. Due to the mechanical seal damage caused by idling or liquid corrosion of the submersible pump, water ingress into its motor can also cause the motor to burn down. If the corresponding water leakage sensor is equipped with a control cabinet, it can be avoided. If there is no such configuration, it is recommended to regularly maintain the submersible pump and replace the seal.
5. The motor may also be burnt out due to missing items caused by other contact reasons such as poor contact of the power cord.
For submersible pumps that have been immersed in water for a long time and are not used, the coil insulation to ground and phase to phase insulation should be checked before starting the motor
